Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), Wiranto received an audience from the Association of Activists and Citizens (Pandawa) Nusantara, which was held online on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
During the meeting, one of them discussed the issue of e-voting in the General Election (Pemilu). This received a positive response by Wiranto. According to Wiranto, what was conveyed by Pandawa Nusantara would be recorded as material for consideration to be submitted to the President and the Ministers.
The Secretary General of the Pandawa Nusantara, Faisal Anwar, said that e-voting is an option to make the general election more effective. In addition, e-voting will help preserve nature because the trees that are cut down for later use as ballot papers will decrease.
However, despite this, there are a number of obstacles in the implementation of e-voting in elections, one of which is the uneven distribution of internet access in a number of regions of Indonesia which needs to be prepared in the next two years.
