President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin witnessed the exchange of a number of bilateral cooperation documents between the Indonesian and Russian governments at the Konstantinovsky Palace, St. Petersburg, on Thursday, June 19, 2025. During the meeting, the two heads of state agreed on the “Declaration of Strategic Partnership between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Indonesia.”
This declaration reflects a new direction in Indonesia-Russia bilateral relations, which are becoming increasingly broad and multidimensional, spanning areas such as education, digital economy, investment, transportation, and strengthening connectivity between strategic institutions.
President Prabowo and President Putin also witnessed the exchange of four bilateral cooperation documents between the Indonesian and Russian governments. The exchange of these documents serves as a concrete affirmation of the two countries’ commitment to strengthening strategic cross-sectoral relations amid the ever-changing global dynamics.
