Agung explained how important the role of blood is for humans, without adequate blood, the balance and function of the body organs will be disrupted. If we refer to the WHO recommendation, the ideal amount of blood availability is at least 2% of the total population, then Indonesia needs at least 5.6 million blood bags per year, but based on the data, it can only be fulfilled around 4 million bags per year. Agung further said that it is necessary to develop a national blood procurement program and hoped that the authorities both at the central and regional levels can give more attention to donors.
