The Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) held a closed meeting with the theme “Optimizing Education Budget for Scholarships and Research Enhancement” at the Wantimpres office on Monday, August 19, 2024. The meeting featured several speakers, including Drs. Amich Alhumami, MA, M.Ed, Ph.D., Deputy for Human Development, Society, and Culture at Bappenas; Putut Hari Satyaka, Director of Human Development and Culture Budget; Prof. Dr. Agus Haryanto, Deputy for Research & Innovation Facilitation at BRIN; Ir. Dwi Larso, M.SIE, Ph.D., Director of LPDP Scholarships; and Chairil Abdini, Secretary General of AIPI.
The meeting discussed efforts to optimize the education budget for scholarships for master’s (S2) and doctoral (S3) programs to enhance the availability of highly educated human resources, which is closely linked to improving research in Indonesia. The meeting was led by M. Arfan Sahib SK, Head of the Data and Information Bureau, and attended by other Wantimpres secretaries, including Assoc Prof. Dr. Drs. Adv. Ganjar Razuni, S.H., M.Si., Sudiman Tarigan, S.H., M.H., and Benardinus Boyke Rachmanda, S.E., M.S.
