Presidential Advisory Council Member, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, attended the press conference for the Recognition of Healthy Herbal Medicine Culture as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, held at Grand Indonesia Jakarta on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. During the event, Putri appreciated the support of the entire community that has collectively revitalized the ecosystem of herbal medicine’s health culture. This achievement aligns with the government’s efforts to nurture and preserve the healthy herbal medicine culture, as reflected in the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 54 of 2023 concerning the Development and Utilization of Herbal Medicine.
The recognition of herbal medicine as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO is expected to enhance the global recognition of Healthy Herbal Medicine Culture and contribute positively to global health. Additionally, during the event, the Cultural Masterpiece Award from MURI was presented to the Chairman of the Indonesian Herbal Medicine Association and Mr. Gaura Mancacaritadipura (Consultant of Herbal Medicine to UNESCO) for their support in the efforts to establish Healthy Herbal Medicine Culture as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. Also present at the event were Dwi Ranny Pertiwi Zarman (Chairman of the Indonesian Herbal Medicine Association), Jony Yuwono (Herbal Medicine Association Research Team), Prof. Jaya Suprana, and Gaura Mancacaritadipura.
