Member of the Presidential Advisory Council of the Republic of Indonesia (Wantimpres), Soekarwo, conducted a Working Visit in Tuban Regency, East Java Province (5/9). The focus of this working visit was to observe the development of the agricultural sector, particularly corn, in Tuban Regency. During a meeting with the Regent of Tuban and his team, as well as the Farmers’ Association, Regent Aditya Halindra Faridzky conveyed that Tuban Regency is the highest producer of corn in East Java and ranks 5th in rice production in East Java. One of the challenges faced is the relatively high cost of fertilizer product permits. However, one of the anticipations by the Regency Government is the formation of cooperatives and the establishment of SPUBA (Agricultural Entrepreneurship Farmer School) to educate farmers. On this occasion, Soekarwo suggested that in the future, Tuban Regency, through the Organic Fertilizer Processors Association, can increase organic fertilizer production, not only for local needs but also for sale to other regions.
