President Joko Widodo, accompanied by Mrs. Iriana Joko Widodo, inaugurated Mayapada
Hospital Bandung, located on Jalan Terusan Buah Batu No. 5, Bandung City, West Java
Province, on March 6, 2023. Also accompanying the inauguration were Tahir, Member of the
Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), Pratikno, Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg),
Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health (Menkes), Ruzhanul Ulum, Deputy Governor of West
Java, and Yana Mulyana, Mayor of Bandung. In his speech, President Joko Widodo appreciated
the concept of hospitals that carry the theme of green hospitals in Indonesia.
The president hopes that the presence of modern hospitals such as Mayapada Hospital
Bandung can reduce the number of people seeking treatment abroad.
The president also stated that the government would fully support the construction of an
international standard hospital. This is done so that Indonesia does not lose large amounts of
foreign exchange.
The President is also grateful that Mayapada Hospital Bandung provides extensive
opportunities for Indonesian people from various walks of life to get health services. The
President does not want gaps in the community to get access to health services, including
patients who use health insurance through BPJS (Social Security Organizing Agency).
