The Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) held a limited meeting with members of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) on Thursday, November 24, 2022, at the Wantimpres office. Wiranto, the Chairman of Wantimpres, directly led the meeting along with other Wantimpres members, namely Sidarto Danusubroto, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, Agung Laksono, and Soekarwo. Wantimpres was accompanied by Agus Widodo (Secretary of Wantimpres), Begi Hersutanto (Secretary of Wantimpres Chairman), Hasbullah Ahmad (Secretary of Wantimpres Members), Devanto Pratomo (Secretary of Wantimpres Members), Ganjar Razuni (Secretary of Wantimpres Members), Sudiman Tarigan (Secretary of Wantimpres Members), and Jan Prince (Secretary of Wantimpres members).
This limited meeting discussed the topic of “Reform of Police Institutions.” Kompolnas described the various duties of Kompolnas, particularly the supervisory function and making recommendations to the President. Kompolnas was born as a reform mandate, so it has a strategic role because it provides direction and police policy. In addition, the Kompolnas is also expected to encourage the police to provide optimal services to the community and prioritize openness in line with the development of current information technology.
Present as speakers from Kompolnas were Benny Jozua Mamoto (Secretary and Member of Kompolnas), Pudji Hartanto Iskandar (Member of Kompolnas), Albertus Wahyurudhanto (Member of Kompolnas), Yusuf (Member of Kompolnas), Mohammad Dawam (Member of Kompolnas), and Poengky Indarti (Member of Kompolnas). In addition, Musa Tampubolon was also present as Assistant Commissioner and Head of Secretariat.
