Wantimpres held a limited meeting with KPU Chairman Hasyim Asy’ari on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Wantimpres office. The meeting with the theme “Preparation and Readiness to Face the 2024 Elections” was chaired by the Chairman of Wantimpres Wiranto, also attended by other Wantimpres Members, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, H.R. Agung Laksono, Sidarto Danusubroto, Soekarwo and M. Mardiono.
It is realized that the holding of the 2024 elections will be a fairly complicated democratic event, consuming a lot of energy and will be a massive political year in Indonesia. This democratic party will elect the President, Members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Members of the Provincial Parliament, Members of the DPRD and Members of the DPD simultaneously, on February 14, 2024. Furthermore, on November 27, 2024, simultaneous regional elections will be held to elect the Governor, Regent and Mayor simultaneously. In that connection, Wantimpres limited meeting with the Chairman of the KPU discussed the anticipatory measures that the KPU had prepared, mitigation of a number of problems including the offer of alternative solutions that were most likely to overcome the constraints and obstacles faced by the election organizers.
Wantimpres is optimistic that KPU can organize all stages, programs and schedules that have been set together as well as possible. Wantimpres hopes that the KPU can learn from the shortcomings of holding previous elections so that the 2024 elections can be held much better than the previous elections.
