Member of the Presidential Advisory Council, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, accompanied by Secretary of the Wantimpres Member, Devanto Shasta Pratomo, held a limited meeting with the Director of Cultural Protection, Ministry of Education and Culture RI, Irini Dewi Wanti, on Friday, August 12, 2022 at the Wantimpres office. This meeting discussed efforts to encourage the kebaya as an intangible cultural heritage nomination on behalf of the Republic of Indonesia to UNESCO. It also discussed the plan to declare the National Kebaya Day as an effort to strengthen national identity while at the same time preserving the kebaya as a heritage rooted in Indonesia’s original culture.
