Members of the Presidential Advisory Council, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani and Muhamad Mardiono on Monday, June 27, 2022 held a limited meeting with the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) with the topic of developing and strengthening jamu as cultural heritage, strengthening preventive health, as well as curative ( for those who have clinical trials of phytopharmaceuticals) and economic drivers during the pandemic.
Indonesia is famous for its rich culture and rich biological varieties that are of interest to nations. The meeting discussed several potential developments and uses of jamu which, apart from being an Indonesian cultural heritage, are also a source of holistic health care, so that they are preventive as well as complementary promotive. In addition, it also discussed the importance of preparing regulations and road maps which guide the direction, goals and stages of developing Indonesian jamu which have high economic potential in improving the welfare of the community and the competitiveness of the nation.
Present at the meeting as resource persons were Ervan Maksum ST, M.Sc (Special Staff for the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas), Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, S.TP. MS, Ph.D (Director of Public Health and Nutrition, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas), Ir.R. Anang Noegroho Setyo Moeljono, MEM (Director of Food and Agriculture, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas), and Prof. Dr. dr. Agus Purwadianto (Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia).
