Member of the Presidential Advisory Council, Soekarwo explained how the Revenue Sharing Fund of Tobacco Products Excise (DBH CHT) emerged in the National Panel Discussion organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University. Soekarwo was the speaker in a discussion with the theme “Prospects and Challenges during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period on Tobacco Products Industry (IHT) from the Supply-Demand Side and Tobacco Products Excise Policy on Thursday, September 9th, 2021.
The discussion was opened by Suahazil Nazara, Deputy Minister of Finance representing the President of the Republic of Indonesia. Also present to give remarks in the discussion were Drajat Irawan, Head of the Industry and Trade Office of East Java representing the Governor of East Java and Prof. M. Nasih, Rector of Airlangga University.
In his presentation, Soekarwo said that DBH CHT was a fund collected from tobacco products that was used to improve public health facilities. DBH CHT at this time is still far from the community’s demand by 10%.
