Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), Agung Laksono, gave a public lecture with the theme “Building National Resilience in the Time of the Covid-19 Pandemic” at YARSI University with zoom on Monday, August 23, 2021. Present in the public lecture was Prof. Fasli Jalal, Ph. D, as the Rector of YARSI University and the entire academic community including lecturers and students.
In his presentation, Agung Laksono said that in the current pandemic era, to achieve national resilience, health and economic recovery are two things that must be achieved and cannot be separated. This pandemic teaches us that innovations and creations of the nation’s people, especially in the health sector, need to be encouraged and improved to achieve national independence.
Responding to one of the students’ questions on how to make Indonesia achieve herd immunity instead of herd stupidity, Agung Laksono said that fighting hoaxes in the community was not only the government responsibility. Agung invites students to participate in building a sense of optimism and providing correct information about Covid-19 and vaccinations to the public.
