On June 8th, 2021, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani held a limited meeting via online platform with Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop dan UKM) and Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) with the theme of strengthening the culture-based creative industry in Indonesia. Present as speakers were R.S. Hanung Harimba Rachman (Deputy for Small and Medium Enterprises, Kemenkop dan UKM) and Yuke Sri Rahayu (Director of Culinary, Craft, Design, and Fashion, Kemenparekraf).
This limited meeting was held to discuss the importance of culture as a reinforcement of national identity, the nation’s defense system and its relation to sources of inclusive economic growth. Seeing the importance of developing a culture-based creative industry, support from various parties is needed to provide full protection for the development of Indonesian culture, as stated in Article 32 Paragraph (1) of the 1945 Constitution. Apart from being a national identity, culture has been proven to cover many aspects of human life including in encouraging inclusive economic growth in the midst of a pandemic.
