In commemoration of Heroes’ Day, members of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) Soekarwo invited the public, especially the young generation, to emulate Bung Tomo’s struggle which combined the approaches of nationalism and religiosity. This was conveyed on the occasion of the webinar with the theme “Heroes Day and the 100 Years Bung Tomo Award”, on November 10th, 2020. Soekarwo said that Bung Tomo’s struggle was successful because of his ability in reading the context and the potential of his region on the independence struggle movement a lesson that can be learned by today’s Indonesian young generation.
