Muhamad Mardiono Gave Support and Appreciation to Doni Monardo, Chief of the COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, for Covid-19 Handling

Dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic and New Normal conditions at this present time, support and mutual cooperation from all components of the nation are needed to ensure the implementation of the Covid-19 health protocol is carried out in a disciplined manner. It is hoped that community activities will continue to run productively and safely. Strengthening the government policies with the support of entrepreneurs and the community is expected to be able to create optimism for the sustainability of Indonesia’s development under the New Normal conditions.

As a commitment of support and appreciation, Muhamad Mardiono, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) met Doni Monardo, Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) as a Chief of the COVID-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force in the BNPB Office on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. This meeting aimed to support the National Task Force to continue to brings out policies and tactical steps of quick response and responsiveness in coping with the covid-19 pandemic. The Secretary of the Member of Wantimpres and BNPB Prevention Deputy was also attended accompanying Mardiono and Doni.

During the meeting, Mardiono emphasized that national economic development (so-called as “Ekonomi Kerakyatan”) through the strengthening of the rural economy amid the New Normal era and the Covid-19 pandemic, is needed to increase the community resilience. By utilizing domestic products, it is expected to increase the production from the rural areas and then followed by the empowerment of marketing outlets and the value added products processing in urban areas. The development of information systems for management marketing product and application-based supply chains are expected to be able to improve connectivity and supply chains between rural and urban economies. Through the robust program of the rural economy and the manufacturing industry in urban areas, it would hopefully be able to generate economic resilience of more independent and self-reliant communities.

In regard to those matters above, Mardiono encourages the need for continuous efforts to break the spread of Covid-19 and improve public health resilience by conducting rapid tests on production centers in industrial areas. As a form of concrete action, Mardiono will provide aid through providing a PCR tests on a group of productive workers and the community in the industrial area, especially in the Cilegon Industrial Area, Banten. Therefore, Mardiono asked for cooperation and support from the BNPB to assist the program (AD).
