Dato ’Sri Tahir, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council participated to help in reducing the burden on the Indonesian people and nation encountering the COVID-19 outbreak that has so far been hit. Dato ’Sri Tahir provided aid worth 52 billion rupiah for the first stage with the following details: aid worth about 22 billion rupiah for DKI Jakarta residents through the Istiqlal Mosque and other provinces such as West Java, Central Java, and East Java each around 10 billion rupiah. Aid provided in the form of cash, shopping vouchers, and medical equipment (masks, infrared thermometers, and hand sanitizers).
Some of the financial aid (cash or shopping vouchers) for DKI Jakarta residents has been given to the Ministry of Social Affairs with a nominal value of 2 billion rupiah, afterwards the remaining 80% will be given to the Istiqlal Mosque, 10% to the Jakarta Archdiocese (KAJ) and the other 10% to the Indonesian Church Fellowship (PGI).
Dato ’Sri Tahir hopes that the humanitarian aid can be useful to reduce the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak for the people of Indonesia.
