On January 28, 2019, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council H.R. Agung Laksono received a delegation led by Wali Nanggroe of Aceh Teungku Malik Mahmud Al-Haytar that wished to have a discussion to address the current problems in Aceh, particularly regarding the follow-up on the items of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of Helsinki between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Free Aceh Movement, in the context of accelerating the implementation of the Helsinki MoU and the Law on the Governing of Aceh (UUPA). Dahlan Djamaluddin, Chairperson of the Aceh House of Representatives said that the Acehnese people hopes that the development and welfare improvement in Aceh can be simultaneously started in concurrent with the acceleration of the political will of the implementation of the Helsinki MoU and the UUPA (AD).
