In order to find out the progress of the religious community life in Maluku Province, Member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres), K.H. Yahya Cholil Staquf made a working visit to Ambon City, the capital of Maluku Province on 9th-11th January 2019. During the visit, member of the Wantimpres held a meeting with Vice Governor of Maluku, Mr. Zeth Sahuburua along with the ranks of the Maluku Provincial government and Forum for Religion Community Harmony (FKUB) Maluku Province.
At the meeting, K.H. Yahya Cholil Staquf stated, that with experience to resolve conflicts in the past, the people of Maluku and their culture have a capacity to provide peace solutions for conflicts in the world, especially conflicts which happening in the Middle East. He furthermore said that Indonesia must take the position as the initiator of world peace. This is not only due to the constitutional mandate, but also because the global forces today that exist can not provide a better solution in resolving conflicts which happening around the world. This view was also emphasized when he gave a lecture at the Studium Generale of Advanced Leadership Training that held by GP Ansor of Region of Maluku Province. (AB)
