President Prabowo Holds Interfaith Gathering

On Monday, September 1, 2025, President Prabowo Subianto held an interfaith gathering with religious leaders, political party leaders, labor unions, and youth organizations at the State Palace in Jakarta. The meeting was warm, reflecting the President’s commitment to maintaining national unity and listening to the aspirations of the people.

Eight points of youth aspirations:

  1. Appreciate the government’s swift response to the people’s demands.
  2. Evaluate the communication style of officials → be more sensitive, empathetic, and dialogical.
  3. Security forces should maintain order in a measured manner, without being repressive, and take firm action against anarchism.
  4. Guarantee freedom of worship and ease the establishment of houses of worship (evaluate restrictive regulations).
  5. Establish regular communication between the government, religious leaders, youth, the community, and traditional leaders at all levels.
  6. Follow up on the people’s demands: postponement of property tax increases, prevention of layoffs, assurance of decent wages, acceleration of targeted free nutritious meal programs.
  7. Support the acceleration of the ratification of the Asset Seizure Bill in the House of Representatives.
  8. Support the implementation of Asta Cita and the acceleration of priority programs by involving youth of different faiths.

The President responded directly to each aspiration and emphasized that such meetings would become a regular agenda to strengthen communication and ensure that policies are based on the needs of the people.

The meeting closed with an interfaith prayer as a symbol of unity in diversity. 🇮🇩
